Waking Up from the Family Trance:
A Hakomi, Body-Centered Approach*
with Julie Murphy & Manuela Mischke Reeds, MA, Certified Hakomi Trainers
February 8-9, 2003
San Anselmo, CA
|
"Understanding
the family system is fundamental to practicing psychotherapy. The matrix
of the family defines a young child's reality and continues to impact
his or her development into adulthood. This weekend we will explore
family dynamics using body-centered tools, and then we will reach beyond
the nuclear family into the myths and transmissions received from previous
generations. Here, we can discover how we as individuals have been shaped
by our family lineage. Only when we can identify the roles and relationship
styles, beliefs and guiding myths we have inherited from our ancestors,
can we wake up from the family trance and live our lives more choice
fully and authentically."
